How the gut influences our mood, decisions and well-being
About the content
If medical student and bestselling author Giulia Enders refers to an expert in Gut with Charm, then it is the renowned gastroenterologist Prof. Emeran Mayer. In this book, the expert on the interaction between the gut and brain combines cutting-edge neuroscience findings with the latest research results on human intestinal flora. He demonstrates the inseparable link between our mind and digestive system and provides a wealth of practical information and support. He explains the complex interplay between the brain and gut flora - the microorganisms that live in our digestive tract - in a clear and coherent way and offers a revolutionary and provocative look at this new field of research. This book shows why a predominantly plant-based diet is the key to health, why stress and anxiety lead to intestinal diseases and cognitive disorders, and how to correctly interpret your own body's signals.
