Food as a lifesaver
Based on the latest findings in food research, Jo Robinson takes you on a fascinating journey to the origins of plants in this book. She describes how and when we unwittingly rob them of their nutritional value through over-breeding and incorrect preparation. Each chapter deals with one type of fruit or vegetable and offers you lots of tips on how to preserve and release the beneficial ingredients. You will learn how spinach can protect your eyes and reduce inflammation, how garlic can reduce your risk of thrombosis, boost strength and endurance and prevent cancer. The valuable ingredients in blueberries lower blood pressure, help with cardiovascular diseases and inhibit age-related dementia.
This is a revised new edition of Garlic for Cancer and Blueberries for the Heart.
