Resistance training in general, and any of the listed training devices, can be used to achieve a wide variety of training goals and effects, as well as to train individual muscle groups, so that in addition to muscle mass, the athlete's endurance can also be built up indirectly. Resistance training is also of great importance in injury prevention and rehabilitation. The reason for this is the careful build-up of strength through the targeted use of resistance during running, jumping, braking, changing direction and much more. In rehabilitation, for example, there are special hand trainers that specifically train, strengthen and rebuild the hand muscles. Resistance training is used above all in football, as it helps to improve speed and coordination. In football, sports-specific movement sequences can also be optimally simulated and integrated into the exercises. For example, the chest or hip belt is used for linear sprints. All in all, it is important to note that in addition to the movement technique used, the efficiency of movement is also important, because the use of force must be accompanied by efficient target movements.
How do harnesses help with resistancetraining?
As mentioned earlier, there are a variety of different training devices that support resistancetraining. First and foremost, the chest strap. Due to its neoprene padding and nylon coating as well as the low weight of 1.1 kg, the chest strap is very comfortable to wear for every athlete. In addition, it is easy to put on and a good fit can be guaranteed. Thanks to the D-ring, the chest strap can be connected to the resistance trainer and the like. The chest strap is mainly used for resistance training to effectively increase sprinting ability and, as already mentioned, is also highly regarded in football. Thanks to the comfortable fixing of the chest strap to the upper body and the attachment point of the resistance trainer to the back, the athlete has maximum freedom of movement so that there are no movement restrictions. It's the same with the hip belt and harness. By connecting the two trainers with the rubber band, a transition from the supramaximal sprint to the sprint is possible, so this is considered the perfect resistance training tool.
The variety of different exercises with the help of the different training devices help to address all parts of the body, so that especially by strengthening the large muscle groups and deep muscles an optimized coordination and body stability can be achieved.
To maintain improvement through resist training, the exercises should be varied. Among the variables that influence the results and should therefore always be changed are the following:
- Number of exercises
- Frequency of training
- Rest phase between sentences
